I was scrolling through Instagram the other day, and happened upon a photo of a coffee mug for sale by the Life + Lens blog. It reads, “camera coffee community”. It caught my eye, and I stopped to think about what this meant. I love cameras…I really love coffee, and… why is the word, “community” on there? Honestly, it got me thinking. I love my community. I love this little city of Hermosa Beach; my kids’ schools, our education foundation and PTO, our local businesses, our neighbors, our good causes, our grass roots efforts to stop big oil from drilling in our city, our police and fire department, our parades, art walks, beach clean-ups, our New Year’s Eve celebration, our pier, and so many other wonderful things about this “community”. I feel so lucky to be a part of it, and being able to connect with my community through taking photographs and sharing these images makes my world go around. It makes sense why these words ring so true for me, so I bought the mug, and then I had a cup of hot coffee in it, too. 😋
