Katherine, Bennet + Piper . Redondo Beach family photographer

I love these people! We have been friends for a few years, our kids are friends from preschool.  I love how much this mom sees the importances of taking family photos…I photographed these guys last Christmas, for a maternity session, and when Piper was born.  Her home is full of beautiful prints on the wall, and in frames.  Enjoy the photos!

Ahnika + Tegan . Manhattan Beach family photographer

There are a few things that happen in your children’s lives that are things that you really never want to forget.  Their birth, their birthdays, their first steps, their baptism, their first everything, really…

This family invited me to their home on the day of the little one’s baptism.  What a wonderful time we had…we took a few posed photos in the backyard, but mostly just hung out in their home, me with my camera, capturing little moments with these darling girls.

These will be the moments this family will treasure, preparing to present their little one for her baptism. Enjoy the photos!

Baby C . Redondo Beach newborn photographer

Baby C…what a love.  I have never met such mellow parents of a  newborn.  They were so relaxed and comfortable with their new bundle of joy.  Baby C was super alert, watching my every move…his dark brown eyes had me mesmerized from the moment I walked in the door.

His nursery was so sweet, decorated in yellows, greens and grey..a perfect color combination for a new baby to be welcomed in to.

Congratulations to the new parents, your new son is a little gem.  Oh, and you might recognize this loving couple from a session I did with them a while back… imagine how much your life can change in just a year ~ enjoy this little darling!

What to wear for a Photography Session – Spring 2012

On this first day of Spring, I am thinking about how beautiful the weather has been!  I love the bright, sunny and cool weather we have been experiencing.  With Easter and Mother’s day coming up on the calendar, this is a great time to prepare you on what to wear for your spring photo session.

Pick clothing that is comfortable and that you can move around in.  My photo shoots are filled with moving ~ walking, sitting on the ground and interacting with your family.  I always suggest that you start with choosing outfits for your children.  Pick something that they love to wear, and will not fight you on the morning of the photo shoot.  Once you are comfortable with what your children are wearing, choose something for you.  Again, choose something you feel gorgeous in, mix up the colors…perhaps you wear one of the colors of your daughter’s dress for your top, and wear denim on the bottom.  Your significant other can get away with wearing a more neutral color, and denim or khaki pants.  Add accessories….scarves, hats, jewelry if it suits your style.

I LOVE color!  Don’t be afraid to go bold, bright, or choose stripes or plaids for one or two of your outfits.  I do advise to stay away from screen print tee shirts or large logos.  Here are 2 examples of how you can mix and match your family’s wardrobe with one or two color direction.  First example is a pretty dark coral color, which is seen in all 4 outfits.  Second example, we added 2 main colors, turquoise and grey, and added denim and white to round it out.

Shane . Redondo Beach children’s photographer

What a happy little guy!  I so enjoyed photographing this family, and if you can believe, 3 whole generations!  We met up at the Redondo Beach Pier which is such an awesome place for taking photos. Aside from the years of history, and variety of restaurants and shops, this place is full of color, textures, gorgeous back drops, and you even get the beach, sun rocks, etc.  You really can’t ask for more.

I asked this family to interact, talk, hug, walk, and to not look at me.  I love how the photos turned out, very authentic, and with so much joy.  Little Shane was the best smiler ever, and he thought I was absolutely hysterical!  Thanks, and enjoy!

I love taking pictures of people…of personalities, of love, of relationships, of connections, of giggles and of real life. Sometimes beauty takes on a bit of messiness, but in the end, you will be able to see the real and authentic love that you and your people have for one another. And that…is what matters.

Let’s make this easy – Sessions are One Price, ALL INCLUSIVE and stress free.
