My own . Los Angeles County Museum of Art . Los Angeles photographer

Weekends are so busy sometimes!  Soccer, birthday parties, music lessons, play dates….our lives are just go, go, go these days.  A couple of weekends ago, we ended up with a day without anything to do! Amazing, I know.  So, we decided to head over to the Los Angeles County of Art Museum.  I have been really intrigued by all the lamp posts in the front, and was really pumped up to check it out.  So, we went.  We really enjoyed the experience of getting out of our small beach town, and getting out to do something different.  We sampled the gourmet food items from the food trucks, we enjoyed checking out the pieces of the Berlin Wall, which we learned is called The Wall Project, and we wandered in a few of the buildings to check out the exhibits.  I love spending time with my people.

Baby A . Manhattan Beach newborn photographer

She’s here!  Baby A arrived  a few weeks ago, and she couldn’t be any more precious! She looks exactly like her daddy…sorry momma!  (Don’t worry, my oldest doesn’t look a thing like me either ~ she looks just like her daddy). Which means your second baby will look exactly like you! Anyway, she is precious, and slept through most of the photo shoot.  I did get what I will totally claim to be a smile at me, and lots of yawns.  Enjoy!

Hayden + Kaila . Hermosa Beach photographer

I loved taking photos of this clan on this sunny, chilly day. This family is new to Hermosa, but not to the South Bay.  They recently moved one beach north, and we all immediately connected.  All of our girls are the same ages, they play on the same soccer teams, are in the same classes, and our older ones share a love of reading like none other.  I enjoyed being a part of a typical day in their household….one where they played Rummikub, ate strawberries, and took a walk at the beach.

This is where I am headed with this photography journey of mine.  I want to tell your story ~ the story of your relationships with your people in your family.  I want to capture your hugs, your interactions, your “hearts” on your sleeves.  I want you to do what you enjoy as a family, and I’ll just be there to capture it all. I hope you like where I am going.

Enjoy these, I sure did enjoy taking them.

Michael + baby brother . Manhattan Beach maternity photographer

I loved meeting this new family.  This couple have a little guy, Michael, and are expecting a baby any day now.  I loved pulling up to their place, as it is 5 doors down from where I used to live.  Being there reminded me of the changes I went through living there, being single, working hard, hanging out with friends, all the way to meeting the guy I was to marry, and getting married, and buying our first home, and moving from that great spot.  Anyway, enough of my walk down memory lane..=)  I met this great couple, and their son, Michael.  One of the favorite parts of my job is getting the kids “on my side”.  It’s my mission to bond, connect and make friends with all the littles.  They need to trust me, have fun with me, and not hate enjoy this time having their photo taken.  So, Michael and I talked about dump trucks, shovels, back hoes, books, music, instruments, dinosaurs and blocks.  We made a game out of wearing the shirt he wanted to wear, and wearing the shirt that his mom wanted him to wear.  (The outcome?  He wore them both!)  We laughed, we were silly, and we bonded.  He even shared a raisin with me during his snack time.  Hurray!

What did I love about this shoot?  I loved how comfortable everyone was.  I loved how we did stuff that this family does on a regular basis ~ they read, Michael played, they pushed him on the swing, they loved each other, and the parents even got a few pics in by themselves!  I love how excited this family is for the new baby boy that is on the way any day now.  I love that they are still deciding on a name, but in the mean time, they will call him Babytop (like Triceratops; Michael named him due to his fondness of dinosaurs…)

I hope you enjoy these photos, I sure enjoyed taking them.

I love taking pictures of people…of personalities, of love, of relationships, of connections, of giggles and of real life. Sometimes beauty takes on a bit of messiness, but in the end, you will be able to see the real and authentic love that you and your people have for one another. And that…is what matters.
