Maya . Hermosa Beach photographer

Imagine the man in the family being offered a job transfer.  Where it would require you to move from your city, your home, your kid’s school, and your pals.  Imagine that the place where you would agree to move is far.  Really FAR.  How about imaging that that far place would be Ireland.  Can you?  I certainly can’t, but it sounds like a pretty awesome adventure!  And, this family is doing just that…they are moving to Ireland!

I met this lovely family of 3 last year when our daughter were in the same kinder class.  Ya know how you just click with someone right away? That is just how I felt with these guys.

I got to go photograph the mommy and Maya at their very cute beach bungalow a few days ago. I wanted to make sure that they got some shots of their place, and enjoying what they enjoy in their home.  I am really happy to share the genuine moments that they shared, and also that these images are the Father’s Day gift that they will give to Maya’s daddy.

I will miss you guys, and I will definitely be taking you up on your offer to come visit!!  Enjoy!

Riccardo, Emily, Rebecca + Andrea . Hermosa Beach photographer

Such a beautiful family, 2 lovely parents and 4 awesome kids.  I don’t think they knew what to expect from this photo session, but it was cool when they realized how much fun we were going to have.  This family lives here and in Italy, as well.  I love that everyone is fluent in English and Italian.  What a awesome bunch.  Thanks for spending your afternoon with me!

Jeffrey + Johnny . Hermosa Beach family photographer

This is my daughter’s first grade teacher’s family.  Actually, she was my older daughter’s first grade teacher, too.  She is such a wonderful person, teacher, mother and friend.  I was asked to do something for her for Teacher Appreciation Week, which was last week at our elementary school.  I was very excited when she accepted my offer to get some photos of her and her family.

I am so appreciative of her, and her commitment to teaching, caring for, and loving my kids.  Thank you for everything you do!!

What to wear for a Photography Session . Spring 2013

One of the questions that I get asked most is, “what do we wear for our photo shoot?”  I can help!

I always suggest starting with the children’s clothing selections…don’t limit yourself to solid colors, feel free to go for patterns, plaids and multiple colors when choosing for your kids.  When picking out outfits for the adults, pick one color from the kid’s outfits, and stick with that.  You can pair your “color” top with jeans, pants or a long skirt.  Choose something you feel gorgeous in, mix up the colors…perhaps you wear one of the colors of your daughter’s dress for your top, and wear denim on the bottom.  Don’t forget about dad…he may go with a neutral color, and his favorite jeans, too.  Accessories are the other element to a fun shoot…hats, lightweight scarves, fun tights, or a head band add detail to every picture.

Pick clothing that is comfortable and that you can move around in.  My photo shoots are filled with moving ~ walking, sitting on the ground and interacting with your family.

I LOVE color!  Don’t be afraid to go bold, bright, or choose stripes or plaids for one or two of your outfits.  I do advise to stay away from screen print tee shirts or large logos.  Here are 2 examples of how you can mix and match your family’s wardrobe with one or two color direction.  First example is a pretty dark coral color, which is seen in all 4 outfits.  Second example, we added 2 main colors, turquoise and grey, and added denim and white to round it out.

I love taking pictures of people…of personalities, of love, of relationships, of connections, of giggles and of real life. Sometimes beauty takes on a bit of messiness, but in the end, you will be able to see the real and authentic love that you and your people have for one another. And that…is what matters.

Let’s make this easy – Sessions are One Price, ALL INCLUSIVE and stress free.
